Michel Delhommeau and his family farm 25 hectares of vines in the town of Monnieres within the Muscadet Serve et Maine appellation. Established as Domaine des Vignes Saint Vincet, Michel took over the family estate in 1992.

Under vine, as one would expect of the region, is predominantly Melon de Bourgogne. They also have a small amount of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc and Cot. Farming has been certified organic since 2013.

The soils here are unique consisting of both gneiss and gabro soils. Gneiss is a coarse-grained form of granite, a metamorphic rock which acts as the mother rock of the central Muscadet region. Gabro by comparison is a harder, dark, alkaline volcanic rock, often compared to basalt.

Michel vinifies only by soil types with older vines and plots always separated. Èlevage occurs in underground vats, the wines resting for a minimum 9 months sur lie, some cuvees for several years.

Expressive and with a mineral core, Michel is producing Muscadet that will have Chablis drinkers doing a double take. As well as offering great value for money.
