Kleinknecht - Delirium 2020
Varietal Pinot Gris, Sylvaner
Region Alsace, France
A solar wine consisting of predominantly Pinot Gris, Sylvaner and Gewürztraminer, but does include all grapes of the estate (including Pinot) The solera began in 2013, each year they bottle half of the barrel and top it with fresh juice from the vintage.
“Delirium - a great state of confusion”
Compelling and intriguing, this isn’t a wine that can be pigeon holed. Aromas of orange and gentle oxidative notes. The palate has a bitter orange twist. There’s fruit, but also an underlying savouriness. Umami and wonderful length. Would accompany cheese beautifully, also white protein rich dishes.
