Chardonnay from parcels in Vire Clesse and Montbellet (25 – 85 years old) on limestone clay, rich in silica. This bottling has had extended time on lees in used barrels, 18 months.
Opulent and luscious front palate with purity and drive from the minerality. A textured white Burgundy that is layers of smoky mineral, fresh orchard fruit and pastry that have a vibrancy and moreish-ness to them. Exceptionally well composed, yet being Macon this has the added punch of value for all its virtues and deliciousness.
